So what books/authors are you into?

I went through a phase where I was obsessed with reading parenting books and so I made a conscious effort to try to do some fiction reading. I reread a series of books I have read before before reading the new ones I had and I really enjoyed it. Read about 4 books in 2 weeks!

I love books by Richard North Patterson. They're political/legal but nowhere near as heavy as Grisham. Enjoy a lot of Martina Cole's although subject matter is pretty horrific in places. Used to be a fan of Patricia Cornwell but in the last couple she has changed her writing style (from first person to third) and it just doesn't read right and I can't get into them. One of my all time faves is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett - didn't think it would be my cup of tea as I'm into more crime/legal/thrillar stuff and it's historical but it is amazing. Couldn't put it down and read it in 3 days. Highly recommend that one.

I'm quite unadventurous I have to admit and don't often try new authors. I do love reading though and probably should do more of it and spend less time on the net!!
I'm the same with rereading series of stuff, I either go for Tom Clancy or fluff sci-fi/fantasy or daftness like Terry Pratchett or The Lord of the Rings which keeps me quiet for a few days Wink

But I love the interaction of the 'net more, I think Smile2
Oh my dh is into Pratchett. Have a whole shelf of them. Never read LOTR although I have been meaning too, massive fan of the films.
Bits of LOTR are a *lot* more uhm 'woolly' than the films...
I'm currently trying to plough through the latest George R R Martin book (it's sooo thick lol) 'A Feast for Crows'.  I love his books but it's been so long since I read the previous book I'm having real trouble remembering the characters, etc and finding it a little hard going.
