What are you reading? Parenting-related or not? I'm too busy doing site stuff to read atm Rolleyes though I did manage to read a political thriller the other week!

I'd like to read Unconditional Parenting, and Dr Jay Gordon's book, and Primal Mothering in a Modern World (think that's the title!!) and I need to re-read Non-violent Communication, actually I'd like that on audio-book to listen to in the car/falling asleep/whatever.

Anything else that should be on my list, or should be avoided?
Currently reading 'Conscious Conception' which is a fab book, in fact love all of Jeannine's books.

'Primal Mothering in a Modern World' is one of my favourites so would highly recommend it, although there are certain bits that I don't agree with.

I've just placed an order with Amazon.com and have 'mothering your nursing toddler' and 'diaper free' winging there way to me.
Been reading Letting Go for yonks but keep getting distracted then it's weeks before I get back to it! Very good though - love DJ's books.

Oh I'm new btw *waves*
Welcome Cath Smile2

Ikwym about getting distracted, I need a week off so I can catch up on some books.

Vicki what in Primal Mothering don't you agree with?
Not sure how to word this or explain really and don't want to upset anyone but I was uncomfortable with her talk of abortions and she states a lot that it's best not to bring a baby into the world if you're not ready and to consider abortion, just doesn't seem to fit in with all the natural mothering and I wasn't too sure about it.

Also she recommends a fruitarian diet which she is no longer on as her children were having severe problems with it, but the book hasn't been revised and probably should be incase anyone blindly follows her diet with their kids.

But other than those 'minor' points it's a great book, although I haven't read it for a while.
There are 'natural' abortion methods I suppose... but also who really knows if they're ready until it happens? I was ready for a family but not ready for a premmie...

I'm interested in blood group living, not really got into it but I'm sure I wouldn't be well on a fruitarian diet!
Thought of another weird thing, she thinks she's going to live for ever or some such!  I'm really not advertising the book well am I lol but it's so good in many ways (attachment/bf/ec/natural living etc).

I was just going to order Unconditional Parenting but there's a big wait on it, may have to order from the US.
