Hi, I've just bought a Storchenwiege sling and I'm having trouble using it. The main thing is the knot, I can't seem to work out how to tie the recomended weavers knot.

Any other tips on baby wearing are welcome as I'm new to this, even though this is my 4th child!

Thanks,

Toria x
The weaver's or reef knot is done by tying as normal but reversing the over/under for the second half of the knot. It's recommended as it holds more firmly than a normal granny-knot or half-bow, but it's not compulsory Smile2

Other babywearing tips... try new carries when you're both calm and not too tired... if your baby fusses when first put in a sling try walking quickly outside, or at least walking quickly! will leave it for others to chip in Smile2
Does anuone live in the York area? Would be great to meet other babywearing mums and have hands on help experimenting with the sling. Also we've only just moved to the area a few weeks ago, so would be nice to make new friends.
Hi Toria,
there is a thriving babywearing group in yorkshire come and join us here :

I'm about a 20-30 min train ride from York, and quite often hold meets at my house (near garforth Leeds). We have a few mums from york so hopefully you can now meet some other slingersSmile2

Also does this help with your knot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reef_knot

When you get really confident with slinging you can even wrap your baby and not even knot Wow
