Welcome to our 'tips and tricks' page. If you have any that you would like to add, please feel free to email us or post on our forum Pouch slings: Flipping the shoulder If you find that your pouch sling is slightly too big, but not big enough to warrant getting a smaller size, you can take the top-most hem on your shoulder and fold it over so that the stitching cups the outside of your shoulder. This brings the top rail in tighter and should help keep small babies steadier in upright carries. Mei Tais: Tying for front carry to keep the straps away from the neck Some people find that mei tai straps creep up their shoulders and dig into their neck particularly in front carrying positions. One way to avoid this is to secure the shoulder straps with the waist straps, this stops the cross-over point riding up the back. To begin, tie on the mei tai and place the baby on your front as usual. Take one shoulder strap over your shoulder and feed it through the waist strap. Take the other strap over your shoulder and loosely tie. Make sure the straps are pulled very tight, jump and jiggle as much as you like :) and finish the knot. The knot may feel uncomfortable at first but will quickly settle into position, and the difference after a few minutes when the straps stay in place rather than riding up to your neck is remarkable!
